Electrolysis is the method employed to permanently stop the regrowth of the hair. It has been around since the 19th century and is still the only clinically proven method of permanent removal.
An electrical current is applied to the base of the hair follicle via a very fine sterile probe which is inserted alongside the hair inside the follicle. The current produces heat which results in the destruction of the hair growth cells. There is no piercing of the skin as the probe is so fine and fits inside the natural opening of the hair follicle.
